Privacy Notice
SS Medical, Inc. ("SS Medical", "we") provides home oxygen and respiratory equipment to Veterans under contract to Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers. This notice explains how we handle information from visitors to this website and from patients who receive our text messages. Your medical information is separately protected under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which every patient receives when service begins.
This website
This site is informational. It does not ask you to create an account, does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not collect personal information unless you choose to call or contact us.
Text messages (SMS)
With a patient's consent, SS Medical sends one text message after a delivery, equipment check or service visit containing a link to a short satisfaction survey. We use the patient's mobile number only for this purpose. We do not send marketing texts.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and texting consent are shared only with the messaging service that delivers texts on our behalf, and only as needed to deliver them. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
The text itself contains no personal or health information. The survey link opens a page that asks the patient to confirm their last name before showing the survey, so only the patient can answer it. Survey answers are stored with the patient's SS Medical record, are seen only by SS Medical staff, and are used to check the quality of the service provided. They are never sold.
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message or call us. A patient's care is not affected in any way by whether they take a survey.
How we protect information
Patient information is kept in access-controlled systems available only to staff who need it for care, billing or quality review. We keep records as long as required by our contracts and by law.
